Are you tired of always going to the same bars? If so, this article is for you. Today I suggest you to escape to a place that evokes Louisiana. No need to fly, you can go there by metro! Yes, you heard me, going to a bar out of the ordinary is possible in Paris! Ladies and gentlemen, I have the honour to present to you the Baton Rouge bar, enjoy!
Imagine a charming place with soft ligthting, a mysterious and cosy athmosphere. As soon as you walk through the front door, you can not remain insensitive to the original decoration of the bar. Skulls perched on canes, dream catcher, voodoo accessories, rustic furniture, cosy cushions and candles invite you to escape and relax after a hard day’s work.
The waiters are lovely and they all wear pants with braces, a white shirt and a tie.
The cocktail menu is voluntarily wrinkled and yellowed to give it a vintage look. There are so many temptations that you will have trouble choosing! I decided to try a “Grasshopper” cocktail (mint liqueur, white cocoa cream, milk, mint leaves and a piece of dark chocolate) and my friend took a “Pelican Milk” (Jim Beam bourbon, Walnut Supreme, maple syrup with Cajun spices, organic egg yolk, milk and nutmeg).
They were served in small glass bottles beautifully decorated and the result was perfect: refreshing, yummy and original! And I also ate a delicious po boy sandwich…
Particularity of the place: you are invited to throw peanut shells on the floor! True story…
Where to find it? 62 rue Notre Dame de Lorette 75009 Paris (metro Saint-Georges line 12).
Prices: 13 euros for a cocktail. Food costs between 8 and 15 euros. It’s a bit expensive but you will have an amazing time, I promise!
Have a lovely weekend, cheers 🙂
