Hello theater enthusiasts!
It’s been a while since my last outing to the theater. Until now, the only show I had seen in English in Paris was How to become a Parisian and I thought it was a pity that there are no more shows in Shakespeare’s language in the capital! At the beginning of the week, I was surfing on my favourite booking website when I discovered this special show, so I decided to jump at the chance and book my evening. Here is my review of Laugh etc…, enjoy!
What doest it talk about? Laugh etc… is a stand-up comic presented by Lisa Raduszynski, a French girl with a fake American accent, so you won’t have trouble understanding her words. This is also an opportunity to discover alternatively 5 humorists from all around the world in a cosy atmosphere. Yesterday, there were Julie Haddad, Tom Morton, Sand Van Roy, Phillys Wang and Paul Taylor. The only thing you will have to do is laughing, having a good time and applauding, so make yourself comfortable in your lovely little seat!
Yes, the seats and the stage are in sync with the former name of the theater (Rikiki Théâtre) which is now called Théâtre Dalayrac. They are tiny but very welcoming!
The show begins with an introductory speech of the anchorwoman who loves that people notice her (distant) ressemblance to Jennifer Aniston and who wants to get to know the audience. Don’t be afraid to answer her questions and remember that if she is teasing you, it’s just a joke, ok?
The humorists are all young, crazy, friendly, provocative and with their own personality. They can talk about the etymology of their name, their dual culture, their boobs, their exes, sex, work meetings, misunderstandings and so on…
One thing is sure: you are headed for one hour of frank fun and the English level is completely understandable! The comedians are on stage every Wednesday at 9:30 pm at Théâtre Dalayrac, near Opéra district.
You can book your tickets on the website http://www.billetreduc.com/152024/evt.htm. For now, the show is free, you just have to pay 2 euros fees to confirm your booking online and give what you want at the end of the show. Be generous, they deserve it!
See you soon 🙂
