What you need to know about the INFJ personality type…

Hello mates!

As I am very interested in everything related to the personality, I did a personality test based on the typology of the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) test and here are my results: I’m an INFJ (Introversion, iNtuition, Feeling, Judgement) person! We should not take everything at face value but I have to say that the drawn portrait is rather consistent with reality. If you do the test and are also an INFJ or if you know INFJ people, this article is for you! Enjoy reading…

1) Portrait

The INFJ form the rarest type of personality, constituting about 1.5% of the population. They are among the most overrepresentated types among gifted individuals (IQ above or equal to 130). At least I know that I don’t have the IQ of plankton! Wonderful.

INFJ people are gentle, caring, complex and intuitive. Artistic and creative, they live in a world of hidden meanings and possibilities.

INFJ types like things to be orderly. They are constantly looking for the best system and redefine their priorities in life according to the context. They know things intuitively and have a huge faith in their instincts and intuitions. They are not as organized as other types and they are not as ordered as they seem. Oh my god, this is so true but shhh…

INFJ have strange vision of people and situations. They get “feelings” about things and understand them intuitively. In extreme cases, some may even have misgivings about the course of events. I wish I could predict the future, it would be so convenient!

INFJ are also authentic and warm people. They occupy a special place in the heart of people close to them and who are able to see their special gifts. They care about the feelings of others and they are very sensitive to conflict. They may tend to internalize conflict into their body and become very agitated… It bodes well!

They trust their own instincts first. This can result in a tendency to ignore the opinions of others. They believe they are right. Furthermore, they are perfectionists and are rarely in peace with themselves. There is always something they should do better (it’s so true!). They are disciples of continuous improvement and don’t take the time to revel in their accomplishments. They have strong values and need to live according to what they see fit. Their personality makes them generally gentle and easy going. Conversely, they have very high expectations for themselves but also for their family.

INFJ are patient, devoted and protective. They usually have strong bonds with their relatives. Plus, they encourage those around them to give the best of themselves.

2) Career

At work, INFJ are comfortable where they can be creative and independent. They have a natural affinity for art, but also in science, where they make good use of their intuition. We can also find them in service-oriented professions. However, they are not good at detailed and specific tasks. For example, you will never see me doing some welding!

INFJ need more than just a job. Everything they do must be in line with their values and what they believe is right.

Here are professions compatible with their personality: teacher, doctor, dentist, chiropractor, reflexologist, psychologist, psychiatrist, social assistant, musician, artist, photographer or child minder. I don’t agree with everything but it still gives me interesting paths…

3) Relationships

infj relationship

INFJ are warm, deep and complex. They tend to be perfectionists and are always looking for the best possible relationship. They want relationships in the long term even if they don’t always find them. It makes sense to me!

Strengths: warm, look for the best possible relationship, sensitive and aware of others’ feelings, good communication skills (especially written), take their commitments very seriously and seek lasting relationships, high expectations for others and for themselves, attentive.

Weaknesses: shy, manage money poorly, extreme aversion to conflict and criticism, high expectations for others and for themselves, difficulty to drop a bad relationship.

When they are in a relationship, INFJ are caring and warm. They like to show and receive love. They always commit themselves sincerely in the relationship. They see intimacy as an almost spiritual experience. It’s very important to them to make their other half happy. They generously give their love in a tangible way.

Most compatible personalities: ENTP (Extraversion, iNtuition, Thinking, Perception) or ENFP (Extraversion, iNtuition, Feeling, Perception). It’s good to know…

Although INFJ put priority on their family, they value their friendships at fair value. They seek authenticity and depth in their relationships. They like people who appreciate them for who they are. They may have friends of any personality type. They have no patience for those they consider dishonest or corrupted.

All kind of people are drawn to them. They are usually very popular but they don’t know it. They are appreciated by their close friends for their different way of thinking and their ability to inspire and motivate others.

4) Financial independence

With their warmth, their sensitivity, their willingness to render service, their artistic talents and their lacunar money management, INFJ have a priori no interest or special skills to financial independence. What insight! Finance is not really my cup of tea…
