Good morning food lovers!
No matter how much you enjoy good food, most of the restaurants are expensive! Plus, it’s the end of the month and your poor wallet is losing weight! Oh dear, how will you survive in this terrible world? It is out of question that you put yourself on a diet, your stomach would never forgive you! Asking a gourmet to give up restaurants is like asking a singer to stop singing. You got it, it’s impossible! Don’t worry, as I care about your welfare and savings, I’m gonna give you four addresses of good and inexpensive restaurants in Paris. Mates, you won’t spend more than 14.99 euros for a meal, I promise!
1. Let’s start with a French restaurant: Les Gourmands de Notre-Dame. Isn’t that a charming name? You can already expect to have generous and typical French dishes. Ideally located in Saint-Michel district, Paris 5, along the Seine with a view of Notre-Dame, this little restaurant welcomes you in a lovely place with stone walls, beautiful mirrors and rustic decor. Here you can enjoy quality traditional French cuisine and more important, there is a 12 euros menu with starter, main and dessert available for lunch and dinner every day! No, you’re not dreaming, this is reality! What are you waiting for? Go for it! Opening hours: continuous service from 12:00 am to 10:30 pm every day. Where to find it? 1 rue des Grands Degrés 75005 Paris.
2. If you like Japanese food, I mean Japanese canteens, not the sushis places, go to the Kadoya in Opera district, Paris 1. This little heaven is a specialist in ramen noodles: the “Tantamen” is my favourite one with its sesame and spicy taste and its pieces of minced pork. I also enjoy the “Gomoku Ramen” with shrimps and vegetables, yum! Moreover, the Kadoya offers menus for lunch and dinner as well with starter (usually gyozas or little Japanese salad) and a main: ramen (salty or soya taste) or traditional Japanese dishes. I like ordering “Yakiniku Don” (delicious beef barbecue served on a bowl of rice), “Katsu Curry” (fried pork curry served with rice and sweet potatoes) or “Teriyaki Don” (caramelized chicken served with rice). Menus cost between 12 and 13 euros or you can have a main “à la carte” between 7.50 and 10 euros. Opening hours: from Monday to Saturday (from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm). Where to find it? 28 rue Sainte-Anne 75001 Paris.
3. Pizzas lovers, stop by Pizzeria del Arte. My favourite one is Pizzeria Del Arte Montparnasse, in Paris 15. The setting is nice and bright, the seats are comfortable and the staff is friendly. I always take the Del Arte menu: for 14.90 euros you can have starter+main+drink or main+dessert+drink. I usually order the pizza “Spéciale Pizzaiolo” made with ham, egg, cream, basil, mozzarella, tomato sauce and spices (so tasty!), a Pepsi Max (they don’t have Coke) and a panacotta with red berry coulis for dessert, wow! Opening hours: from Monday to Thursday plus Sunday (from 11:30 am to 10:30 pm) and on Friday and Saturday (from 11:30 am to 11:00 pm). Where to find it? 11 rue de l’Arrivée 75015 Paris.
4. What about a Vietnamese restaurant? Try Comme Au Vietnam in Place d’Italie district, Paris 13. Here you will be able to enjoy an authentic family cuisine 100% home made! I really like the stylish interior design, it reminds Indochine movie with its colonial style and it’s the perfect place for a date, a family dinner or a business meeting. The food presentation is beautiful, the dishes are a delight for the palate (nems, excellent pho, bo bun, Vietnamese crepes and so on) and they have wonderful desserts like giant macaroons absolutely divine! The owners are French-Vietnamese and they managed to combinate the best of both cultures. A main like a bo bun costs around 9 euros. There is also a 12 euros menu for lunch with starter-main-dessert + tea or coffee, treat yourself! Opening hours: every day (from 12:00 am to 3:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm). Where to find it? 195 avenue de Choisy 75013 Paris.
